The students had their first Art class with Mrs. Petkau this week. She teaches art to our class twice a month. They used watercolor paints and masking tape to create the first letter of their first name.
We of course do out own arts and crafts in the classroom too. We took advantage of a "teachable moment" discussing what thunder and lightening is. The students then created their own storm pictures with crayons and black construction paper.
Some of our students enjoy dramatic arts during choice time. One group enjoyed being "The Kitty Family." Another group played in the kitchen area with a special visitor who popped by.
The children often choose to relax and read and use their imaginations in our library area.
