We really enjoyed sharing valentines with each other. The children had so much fun "mailing them" to each other. We made and gave our reading buddies a valentine too. Mrs. McCrea and our other classroom teachers read to us in our classroom. Winnipeg Blue Bomber Nic Demski read to the entire school and he signed autographs too.
We are learning about number groupings, the heart shape and addition basics in Mathematics. We integrated this with Art to make a giant owl or unicorn valentine for our families. We had to count how many paper hearts we used on our owl or unicorn and how many felt hearts we added to our valentine too.
