Learning to Print in Kindergarten

Learning to identify letters and how to print letters is very exciting.  In our class we learn to build the letters with  “big lines and little lines, big curves and little curves” from the program called Learning Without tears.  Learning to hold a pencil properly using our fine motor skills and making the letters fit the lines of the paper takes much practice.
Learning that printing words involves learning consonants and vowels and that finger spaces are required between each word so they can be read is hard work.
